Mount fiji :
Mount Fiji is located on Honshu Island. It’s the highest mountain in Japan. It measures 3,776.25 m. tall. It is a strata volcano that erupted last in 1707-08. The mountain is located 100 kilometers from Tokyo, and it can also be seen from there on a clear day. The tradition says that the volcano was formed in 286 bc by a big earthquake. Even though it sounds true, but the truth is that it was formed during the past 2.6 million years. One of the first eruptions was about 600,000 million years ago. This volcano seems like only one volcano. But it is made by three separate volcano : Komitake , Ko Fuji, and Shin Fuji.
Ring Of fire :
A land form that Japan is part of is the ring of fire. Japan lives right on the deadliest part of the ring of fire. Japan is an elevated land in the ocean that has various volcanoes. Japan has many earthquakes that are caused by this ring of fire. The latest earth hit very hard in the city of Takahagi and it was 9.1 on the Richter scale. It was hit with 7 waves of tsunami.
Abu volcano
Abu is a volcano located on the southwest end of Honshu , an island of Japan. It is based in the city of Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is 80 kilometers west of the city Hiroshima. This volcano is made up of 56 smaller volcanoes. Abu is also known as the (AMVC) Abu Monogenetic Volcano Group. AMVC is a dormant , which is a volcano that rarely erupts now , but may have erupted during historical times. The highest point of this volcano is called Iraoyama. The volcanic activity in this region is thought to be related with the Philippine Sea Plate.
Japan's major river ; Shinano river
The Shinano River is the longest and largest river in Japan. It goes from Nagano to Niigata. It is called the Chikuma River in Nagano. It flows from the foot of Mount Kobushi in the Japanese Alps of Honshu. It flows northeast for 228 miles and enters the Sea of Japan at Niigata. The Shinano River has numerous tributaries; some of them are the Sai and Uono rivers. The lower reaches of the Shinano River become the lower part of the Shinano River gets swampy as the river crosses the Niigata Plain. In 1923 a discharge canal was built in the city of Okozu because the lower course flooded during the spring thaw.
Japan's Climate `
Japan has a mostly tropical on the south. The northern parts of Japan have a more cool climate. Sapporo is on the northern island of Hokkaido. It has a sub-arctic climate. On the other hand , Okinawa has a tropical island , which is on the south side of Japan. The seasons of Japan are spring , March through May. Summer is June through August , Autumn is September through November, Winter is December through February.
